If you have ever had a mangonada, you already know the tension this scent is built on: cold fruit, salt, chile and tamarind all arriving at once, none of them backing down. Strawberry Santal is bright and tangy at the top and quiet and woody by the end of the night, and there is nothing else in our line that goes anywhere near it. The formula is a true dry oil, which is a different thing from the body oils most people have tried. It absorbs into skin on contact instead of coating it, so there is no grease, no waiting and nothing left on your clothes.

Somebody hands you a cup with chile salt around the rim and mango still cold from the ice. The first taste is sweet, then sour, then salty, then sweet again, and you cannot decide which one you are chasing.

Top Notes: Salt on the Rim

Sweet-tart strawberry and juicy mango sharpened with fresh lime and a dusting of chile zest. This opening is the whole argument for the scent. Strawberry and mango come in ripe and dripping, lime cuts across them, and then the chile zest lands, dry and warm and slightly startling. It is the note almost nobody puts in body care, and it is the reason this bottle does not smell like anything else you own.

Heart Notes: The Tamarind Turn

Mango nectar and sweet tamarind swirled through chamoy, candied berry and glowing amber. Tamarind is sour and dark and faintly smoky, and paired with chamoy it drags the fruit somewhere far more interesting than sweet. Candied berry keeps the sugar in play. Amber starts glowing underneath, and this is the first sign of where the whole thing is heading.

Base Notes: Quiet by Midnight

Creamy sandalwood and vanilla resting on cane sugar, salted spice and warm patchouli. All the tension resolves here. Sandalwood is smooth and skin-close, vanilla and cane sugar round off the last of the tartness, and patchouli grounds it without ever going heavy. The salted spice lingers long enough that you can still tell where this scent started.

Fair warning: the chile and the salt are real. This is not a soft, safe strawberry and it will not be for everyone. If you want sweet with no edge on it, buy Strawberry Vanilla instead.

How to Use:
